Tesla began taking reservations today on the new Model 3 sedan, slated to arrive in late 2017 at a starting price of $35,000. Numerous Tesla stores around the globe saw lines with hundreds eager to hand over $1,000 for the chance to be first to take ownership of one. CEO Elon Musk says Tesla has more than 115,000 cars on order as of 9pm Pacific Time, representing more than $4 billion in potential sales. Nearly all of those came before the reveal, which showed off a highly-aerodynamic, hatchback-style sedan. (Update: Orders had surpassed 132,000 as of 1 AM, Pacific).
