A heat wave is now upon us which basically means a lot of people whether domestic or commercial have their air conditioners on full blast. On that note therefore the Government can learn a thing or two about what is really contributing to the high demand of power and how to mitigate the power shortages.
A do-it-yourself project is taking the globe by storm helping people cool themselves without heavily suppressing their wallets, as well as easing the electricity supply demand from ZESA.
With the help of $50, all you need is a cooler, fan, a PVC pipe and for more efficiency add solar power, to complete the project the project, add some ice.
The video which is available on YouTube and has since attracted more than 3 million views since being posted.
First cut a hole in the lid of the cooler, secure the tube inside the hole then cut out a hole for the fan and make it a little smaller than a fan cage.

Seal it off with some duct tape, put the ice in the cooler and cover the top. Plug in the fan and enjoy the breeze
According to a YouTube user Desertsun02, the hardest job is cutting holes in the cooler’s lid to fit the fan.
Desertsun02 recommends using big jugs of frozen frozen water inside the cooler so that when they melt, there will not be need to clean it all up, instead just put them back in the freezer and reuse them once the water freezes up again.
The battery pack which the fan was connected to lasted seven hours but it can be replaced by other power sources like solar. The ice in the cooler melted after five hours.
