Speculation over Game of Thrones season 6 is heating up as its April 24 premiere gets closer. Of course, much of it has centered on a certain somebody named Jon Snow, namely whether or not he's dead. As controversial as the final scene of last season was, though, let's not forget there are still a ton of other characters left who are definitely alive (for now). And according to an actress who plays one of the more important ones, Game of Thrones season 6 will be its biggest yet.
Sophie Turner — aka Sansa Stark, who of everyone in her house that's still alive has gone through possibly the most brutal treatment thus far — said this season is one of redemption for her character. "I mean this season is a really, really big one for Sansa," she declared to Entertainment Weekly. "It's probably her best season yet. It's her really coming into her own. She, this season, really commands the respect that she deserves and she grabs hold of it and she runs with it and it's really good."
It's about time, and Turner probably feels the same way. "You can only suffer so much before she finally gets her, the respect that she deserves," she added.
As for what else to expect, it sounds like another long-tortured soul will see the tides turn his way a bit too. "I mean this season there's like so many shocks, it's massive," Turner said. "It's the biggest season yet. And just like in terms of character development, so many people's storylines, I'm so excited for. I'm so excited to see Alfie's one this season. It's going to be good." She's referring to Alfie Allen, who plays Theon Greyjoy.
So there you have it. So many shocks. Shockers. Surprises. Big moments. Whatever you want to call them, clearly the upcoming season of HBO's most popular show will have plenty and they'll be more revelatory than anything we've seen before. Considering what's already happened, it's unclear how that's possible, but then again, in a world as sprawling and sadistic as Westeros, it feels like anything is possible.
