In the dramatic finale of series five, the honourable lord of Winterfell was repeatedly stabbed by members of his own army before he was left for dead.
During an interview with BBC breakfast earlier this week, the thespian confirmed any character could face the same dire fate.
He explained: "It has been a theme for the show and I think it's what makes the show very exciting, it's what people love about it; there's no safety there, there's no one lead character that's going to make it through."
He then added: "You can't trust that anyone will do that."

When probed by the interviewer if the murdered Jon Snow was going to return "in some respect", Kit sternly refused to giveaway any spoilers and quipped: "I think anyone who wants to know what happens in season six has to wait until it comes out."
The 29-year-old, who has been spotted on the Game of Thrones set recently, continued: "All I can tell you is Jon Snow... is dead. He died at the end of last season."
In an attempt to get Kit to elaborate, the persistent interviewer quizzed: "But his spirit lives on…?" To which the London-born star replied: "Who knows? We'll have to wait and see. It's going to be a very exciting season."
Kit also confessed during the somewhat awkward interview that when he first read the GoT scripts he thought it was the most "bizarre" thing he'd ever read.
I remember what I thought when I first read it, which was [this is] the most bizarre thing I've read, ever. I thought, 'how is this going to work? Is this ever going to work? Are people ever going to watch this?'
"I think it was a really pleasant surprise for us all when it took off the way it did."
Game Of Thrones season six returns on April 24.
