Twitter is reportedly turning off ads for some of its high-profile users: Recode’s Peter Kafka, who is among these users himself, cites sources saying that Twitter is doing this to get some of its VIP users to stay engaged. Kafa hypothises that Twitter can afford to turn off ads for a small group without really making a dent in its $2.2 billion ad revenue that it generated over the last year, but it’s a strange experiment either way.
Apple’s rumoured iPhone releasing in March might be called the iPhone 5se : 9To5Mac’s Mark Gurman reports that Apple’s rumoured 4-inch iPhone coming out in March will be dubbed the iPhone 5se. The 5se will be an upgraded iPhone 5S, and will add Apple Pay, new camera features, and a faster processor among other things. Gurman says that the iPhone 5se will replace the iPhone 6 in Apple’s lineup in September when it releases the iPhone 7.
WhatsApp might add Facebook integration : Would you like to integrate your Whatsapp with your Facebook account? If you’re in the minority that answered yes to that question, you’re in for some good news. A new report based on leaked images says that WhatsApp will add this feature in an upcoming version on its app for Android. Facebook famously acquired the instant messaging service in 2014 in a $19 billion deal. WhatsApp has since grown to over 900 million active users.
