Alpha Media Holdings (AMH), the largest independent media house in Zimbabwe and publishers of NewsDay, the Zimbabwe Independent, the Southern Eye and The Standard, is set to launch one top stand-alone news website to encompass all its papers, a close source has disclosed.
The private media reportedly plans to produce stories from all its leading productions content posted on Southern Eye, The Standard, NewsDay, The Zimbabwe Independent and NewsDay Weekender sites, as well as content paid for and approved by advertisers all on one website called the AMH365.
The website will look and feel much like any other news site out there, pushing out leading stories from all the publications under various categories and will include articles on news, sports, podcast, and lifestyle issues. However we are not sure if these will be direct feeds from the other live website or they will be independently loading the new website.
Generally speaking, the new product by Alpha Media Holdings, AMH365, is likely to set to work as an aggregator for the company’s five news site.
News aggregators frequently use RSS feeds, because they are easy to parse and are pretty standard around the web. Deal sites are different.
