Harare City Council will shutdown Morton Jaffray Water Treatment Plant from tomorrow to Sunday evening to allow for the installation of new equipment at the plant. In statement yesterday, the city’s acting corporate communications manager Mr Michael Chideme said the shutdown was part of the ongoing rehabilitation programme of the water infrastructure.“The city will from time to time advise customers of planned shutdowns as we work towards completing the refurbishment of the water treatment plant.
“Residents are encouraged to store enough water to take them through the period of scarcity,” he said.
Mr Chideme said over 70 percent of the planned work had been completed.
